I am a U2 apologist.
Don’t listen to critics… the new U2 is a great album. Is it Achtung Baby or WAR? No it is not, but it IS better than their last three records. One of the reviews i read online actually said, “this record had failed on all levels, it’s not even radio friendly.”
Since is the greatness of an album judged by how radio friendly it is? As far as I am concerned I am glad it isn’t
My point is its a good record, not their best record. If you are looking for them to put out a record as good as WAR or Achtung Baby, or Joshua Tree don’t because that would be almost impossible. They have unfortunately set a standard that they cannot themselves break through.
